Classic Battletech
Classic Battletech is a miniatures game that allows players to pilot 30 foot tall robots, tanks and infantry in futuristic combat situations. Created in 1984, the game has evolved to include role playing elements along side table top war gaming. The setting for the game takes place in the 31st century, as five great Houses fight for control over the vast expanse of human occupied space, known as the Inner Sphere. The intrigues and agendas of these great star empires are what fuel the game and drive the massive armies of Battlemechs into combat. In the 20 years that the game has been around, the Battletech universe has expanded and grown through a series of novels, sourcebooks, video games, and even a cartoon! This rich game setting is able to provide players with an infinite number of gaming opportunities both inside and outside a Battlemech!
Battletech inspired dozens of novels, the MechWarrior series of computer games, MechWarrior RPG, and eventually the Mechwarrior Clix game available today.
